Justin Luetkemeyer and Jonathan Hardy came out on top Saturday with a bag just shy of 20 lbs in a stacked 47-boat field. Bait Cave Customs-sponsored team Steve Varner and Eric Dearduff claimed the E-Factor Lures Big Bass with a 6+ lb Lake of the Ozarks hog.
The day also gave us a few reminders of why conservation and safety are built into the way we run our events. Fish care matters. Official check-in times matter. And while no angler wants to face an unfortunate outcome at weigh-in, we were proud of the sportsmanship and respect shown at the scales.
We also want to give a special thank you to the anglers who put in the extra effort to revive struggling fish, including fizzing them and doing everything they could to give those fish the best chance to return to the lake healthy. That kind of fish care and commitment to conservation is exactly what we love to see.
We believe SHOW ME Tournaments is home to some of the best anglers out there — not only because they can catch fish, but because of the way they handle themselves, respect the fishery, and support a fair, consistent tournament environment.
The Just Fish Team Trail will now break for the summer while we run up the river for the LOZ Summer River Series. Just Fish Team Trail returns for Tournament #5 in September.
