2026 SMT Membership

A 2026 SMT Membership ($50) is required for every individual angler participating in any SHOW ME Tournaments event, including boaters, co-anglers, and alternates.

Important Membership Policies

  • All memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable
  • Every person must have their own membership
  • Membership includes completion of the annual liability waiver
  • Tournament entries are not valid without an active membership

2026 Team Information

Team & Alternate Participation Policy

A two-person team may fish up to two (2) events during the season using any combination of solos and/or alternates (e.g., two solo events, two alternate events, or one solo and one alternate) and still maintain team points and championship eligibility.

Solo anglers may fish up to two (2) events with an alternate during the season and still maintain solo points and championship eligibility.

It is the angler’s responsibility to notify the Tournament Director at registration and prior to launch if fishing solo or using an alternate. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of team or solo points for that event.

Permanent team partner changes must be communicated to the Tournament Director in advance.

2026 LIABILITY WAIVER & RELEASE OF CLAIMS

SHOW ME TOURNAMENTS, LLC

Participation in any event organized, hosted, or directed by SHOW ME Tournaments, LLC (“SMT”) is voluntary and involves inherent risks. By signing this waiver, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

Assumption of Risk

I understand that competitive fishing is a potentially dangerous activity. Risks include, but are not limited to, drowning, collisions on the water, severe weather, equipment failure, slips and falls, injuries caused by hooks or other fishing equipment, and the actions or negligence of other participants. I voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with participation in SMT events.

Health & Fitness Representation

I certify that I am physically and mentally capable of safely participating in SMT events and that I have no medical or psychological condition that would impair my ability to do so or endanger myself or others.

Insurance Representation

I acknowledge that I am responsible for maintaining adequate health, accident, and liability insurance to cover any injury, illness, death, or property damage arising from my participation. If I operate a boat in any SMT event, I certify that the boat is insured with a minimum of $100,000 liability coverage. If I do not carry such insurance, I acknowledge that I am personally responsible for all related costs or liabilities.

Release and Hold Harmless

In consideration of being permitted to participate in SMT events, I hereby release, discharge, and agree to hold harmless and indemnify SHOW ME Tournaments, LLC, its owners, officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, hosts, and tournament officials from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to my participation, including those resulting from the negligence of SMT or any related party, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Property Damage & Third-Party Claims

I accept full responsibility for any damage to my property or the property of others caused by me during participation and agree not to hold SMT liable for such damage.

Photography & Media Release

I grant SMT permission to use my name, image, likeness, voice, and/or any photographs or video taken during SMT events for promotional, marketing, reporting, or other lawful purposes without compensation.

Tax Reporting

I understand that if I receive prize winnings paid in cash or by check, I may be required to provide my Social Security number or other tax information before payment is issued, in accordance with applicable tax laws. Failure to provide required tax information may result in forfeiture of prize winnings.

Venue & Governing Law

Any dispute arising from participation in SMT events shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and venue shall lie exclusively in Madison County, Illinois.

Minors

If I am the parent or legal guardian of a minor participant, I certify that I have authority to sign this waiver on the minor’s behalf and that this waiver applies to both myself and the minor. I accept full responsibility for the minor’s participation.

Electronic Signature

I understand that this waiver may be executed electronically and that an electronic signature carries the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.

Tournament Rules Acknowledgment

I acknowledge that participation in SMT events is subject to the official Tournament Rules & Terms of Participation, including but not limited to rules regarding eligibility, conduct, scoring, alternates, safety, and championship qualification. I understand that these rules may be updated and/or supplemented throughout the season and agree that it is my responsibility to review and comply with all applicable rules as published on the SMT website or announced by the Tournament Director.

Acknowledgment and Agreement

I acknowledge that I have read this 2026 Liability Waiver & Release of Claims and the applicable SHOW ME Tournaments rules in their entirety, fully understand their terms, understand that they affect my legal rights, and agree to be bound by them voluntarily. I understand that by agreeing and signing below, I am waiving certain legal rights, including the right to sue.

If I am signing on behalf of a minor participant, I certify that I am the minor’s parent or legal guardian and consent to the minor’s participation under these terms.
